LETRAN Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants

The National Federation of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (taken from NFJPIA Region 6 site)

The National Federation of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (NFJPIA), the national organization of Accountancy students was created in 1983 under the auspices of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA). It serves as the link between the Accountancy students and their professional counterparts. Tasked with organizing the Accountancy students into the relevant sector of the business community, the federation is committed to development and appreciation of the leadership skills, civic consciousness, discipline, academic excellence, and brotherhood among member-schools.

To date, accredited local chapters have swelled around 273 colleges and universities nationwide, with each local chapter having members from 30 to 2000. Through the years, the NFJPIA has received special citations from the PICPA. Outgoing officers and members have been recipients of numerous awards from the PICPA and various accounting firms. In 1988, during the convention of the ASEAN Federation of Accountants (AFA) held in Manila, the NFJPIA was awarded a special citation for its invaluable help during the convention. Last year, 1999, the NFJPIA is once again tapped by the PICPA to assist in the 11th Biennial Conference of the AFA in Manila.

In pursuit of academic excellence, the Federation has sponsored numerous seminars, symposia, workshops, conferences, tournaments, quiz bowls, and interscholastic functions.  It has likewise sponsored parties, concerts, sportsfests, outreach programs and other projects intended to achieve its socio-civic and cultural objectives.  To foster fellowship and unity among JPIAns, the Federation also hosts two conventions in every Federation Year.
